Long Tall Jefferson's fourth album "old sun, new horizon" (2025) is the culmination of a long journey that has taken him through numerous countries and brought him ever closer to himself. Mature and at peace, the thirtysomething sings the stories of his new life as a family man, in whom the love for music and the world burns brighter than ever.
It all began with the lo-fi folk debut album "I Want My Honey Back" (2016) that sent him touring all across Europe. Long Tall Jefferson's second album "Lucky Guy" (2018), which came with somewhat fuller arrangements, received a lot of praise from critics. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung called him "a magician of fine details" and over 50 radio stations played his songs.
On "Cloud Folk" (2020), Long Tall Jefferson reinvented himself and threw the authenticity gauntlet of Americana and singer/songwriter into the fire. With autotune, synthesizer and drum machine, he wrapped his songs in a new shimmering dress and delighted audiences and critics alike.
Appreciated for his moving performances, Long Tall Jefferson has played over 400 concerts, including festivals such as The Great Escape (UK), Eurosonic (NL), Waves Vienna (AT), Gurtenfestival (CH) or Zurich Openair (CH) and shared the stage with artists such as Big Thief, Kevin Morby or Haley Heynderickx.
Simon Borer (*1988), the man behind Long Tall Jefferson, lives with his family in Zurich, Switzerland. In addition to his main project, he plays in the instrumental trio "Löwenzahnhonig" with Fai Baba and Paul Märki, runs the songwriting podcast "Songs und so" with Daniela Weinmann and acts as an important central figure in the musicians collective & record label "Red Brick Records".
