With Uncentered (2018) Chelan burst onto the music scene with an excited mix of lively pop ballads performed in both French and English. "Uncentered is quite eclectic, that's true. Chelan, who performs under his given name, sought collaborators from far and wide on Orange & Blue (2022). The lead single, Patterns, is a romantic neo-soul duet featuring recent COLORS performer NNAVY based in Lausanne (CH), and recently reached the milestone of 5 million streams on Spotify. "My mantra revolves around the principles of sharing and discovery. I derive immense joy from collaborating with others. These are individuals I stumbled upon through various networks, and musicians I genuinely admire."
Chelan’s other recent achievements include: being selected for the 2021 Montreux Jazz Festival’s “Spotlight program; being awarded Apple Music’s ‘Up Next Artist of the Month’ for April 2022, and recently playing his first major festivals in 2023 at Zermatt Unplugged and Caribana Festival, solidifying himself as confident live performer.
His next project, Run to the Sun, is out in late February and will feature seven new tracks. The lead single, London, is slated for release in late October and describes the recurring pressure of exporting one’s artistry for hypothetical success. Another standout is the title track Run to the Sun, an introspective dark soul and glittering pop cut, which will be accompanied by an ambitious music video matching the impact of the song.
