How come this Zurich based band sound as if they’d grown up in the Mississipi Delta?
How come The Garden Orchestra know no inhibitions to mix New Country with funky Blues rhythms and songs about the Spanish Civil War?
How come four astonishing studio cracks joined one of the last singer/songwriters of the 90ties to start a new career?
And how come such disparate influences as The Beatles, Brad Paisley and Godspeed You Black Emperor manifest in one band?
You have to be born in a small country in the middle of Europe to bring forth this vexing yet fascinating musical amalgam.
Arturo Arglos met Urs Wiesendanger when both were teenagers. They played fusion and no one thought Urs would become one of Switzerlands leading producers working with cracks such as Michael Sembello, Warren Wiebe and Jay Graydon. Years later they met again and gave birth to The Garden Orchestra with Liz Schneeberger, Dani Pauli and Claudio Cervino.
