Laralba's logo features the Celtic symbol of the Tree of Life—just as full of life as the music they offer, which tells stories of love, fantasy, wars, and idyllic landscapes. Their wide-ranging repertoire moves from reinterpretations of traditional Irish songs to original folk-pop-inspired compositions, as well as covers of songs by Irish bands such as The Cranberries and The Corrs.
Laralba was founded as a trio in 2010 in Vallemaggia, spending the first few years in the studio crafting their Irish-folk-influenced repertoire.
In 2015, they evolved into a quartet, further developing their sound and songbook, performing at prominent venues and events across Italian-speaking Switzerland. In 2017, they released their first album, "Laralba", entirely self-produced—a blend of ancient and modern that sparks the listener’s curiosity. In 2020, the current lineup was completed with the addition of a fifth member, bringing further growth to the band’s sound, making it even more immersive and rich in feeling.
In 2025, their second album, "Go my love", is released, again self-produced. The title comes from the 17th-century Irish song "Siúil a Rúin" ("Go my love" in Gaelic), a woman’s heartfelt call for her lover who left to fight in France to return to her.
