After a critically acclaimed first release with their album “Envoûtante Sève” in 2022, the Swiss group Narrative Heavy Psych, Kalkas returns in 2024 with an EP format : “Ciel en Feu”.
On this occasion, the Lausanne group welcomed Alex Pera as fourth member, who played second guitars on this new recording during a session at DTR Studio (Chavornay CH) in October 2023. He was mastered by Raphaël Bovey, known for his work with Nostromo, Monkey 3, Samael and Gojira.
This second release was an opportunity for Kalkas to continue to explore its relationship with Nature, its destruction and to develop the protagonists of its narrative and conceptual project while indirectly relating an event experienced by the group in 2021: an explosion during a of their concerts. This project is an opportunity to pay tribute to the people injured.
"Feuilles volantes" are shorter narrative formats, which allow the group to explore other atmospheres and develop the extended universe of Kalkas - in the form of stories combining narration, poetry and music.
