Painting without a frame, with the strokes going over the edge. This is what Sebastian Schwarz, multi-instrumentalist and member of numerous bands, wanted for his own project. No blueprints for the style, no set of rules for the image. Whether mandolins or drum machines: everything goes.
This principle is consistently pursued on the new album "The Arcades", perhaps more radically than ever before. The songs on "The Arcades" explore worlds that are usually locked away in a cupboard so that nobody can see them. Schwarz ventures further out of his comfort zone than before, writing inwardly for the first time, exploring his own world, no matter how uncomfortable it can get.
Long intended as a purely private playground, Schwarz decided to include the nine songs in the Into Orleans catalogue after persuasion from the local music scene.
Euphoric synth-pop numbers share the bench with introverted soundscapes. Some rush to the front, others hide at the back. But they all live in the same arcades, through which you have to walk to reach a new street.
Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet. Sometimes tangible, sometimes blurred.
