Biography

Hugs and Stitches is the intimate folk project of Swiss-Canadian artist Jeremie Magnin, often accompanied by close friends on harmonies. Trading his trusty Fender Precision bass for an acoustic guitar, Jeremie's songs are stripped down, raw to the bone, barenaked versions of his electric bands' repertoire (No Bullshit Baby!, Fire Cult), and sometimes they are unique lullabies that were just too darn cute to be going through distortion pedals and amplifiers in the first place. The debut album "Lullabies and Wake-Up Calls" came out on tape in June 2021 on Cassettine Tapes (Geneva) and Lucinda Records (Madrid), recorded, mixed and mastered by Kevin Galland at Studio Mécanique, La Chaux-de-Fonds, with guest vocals by Charles-Adamir Bernhard (Oregon Trail), Kevin Galland (Coilguns) and Onneca Guelbenzu (Fire Cult, Las Furias). The second album "Almost Foolish" is scheduled for an early spring 2025 release, backed by the same gang of jolly pirates!
