Roman Simon, also known as Farmerman, was born in 1973 in Olten, Switzerland. Music has played a significant role in his life from a young age, as family members frequently played various instruments and sang songs in different styles. Inspired by these early vibrations, he began learning multiple instruments and developing his voice through singing a wide variety of songs.
At the age of 20, he formed his first Reggae bands, such as "Natural Vibes" and "Caly Weed Warriors," where he played drums, bass, guitar, or keyboard. In 2013, he founded the MoveMentalityBand, which created original songs and music. The band also performed as a backing band for several artists from the African and Caribbean music scene, including Black Thunder.
Since 2019, Farmerman has been recording his own songs at Black Energy Studio in Bern, under the guidance of Black Thunder. His talent for quickly creating new songs, inspired by any riddim he hears, is remarkable. The themes of his music are often rebellious, as seen in songs like "Babylon Red" and "Calling All Farmermen," but they also offer positive solutions for the world. In addition, Farmerman explores love and tenderness in soulful tracks like "Birds Of A Feather," "Hey Woman," and "Thank You (Sweet Queen For Your Love)."
With the support and patience of Black Thunder during the recording process, Farmerman is now ready to share his music and messages with the world.
