Algebra is a thrash metal band formed in Lausanne in 2008. The band is
strongly influenced by the genre's pioneers, while also incorporating modern,
progressive elements into their musical style. After publishing an online demo
in 2008, they started to build a solid following among thrash aficionados across
the internet. They started playing their first local shows before releasing their
first EP entitled “Procreation" in 2010.
Their debut album "Polymorph" (2012) attracted attention both at home and
abroad. At that point, StormSpell Records approached the band to re-release
their debut LP and EP. In 2013, the band also released a live version of their
first album entitled "Live Morphin’".
Subsequently, the band got signed to Unspeakable Axe Records, with whom
they released "Feed the Ego" in 2014, "Pulse?" in 2019 and, most recently,
"Chiroptera" in 2022.
The band has now made a name for itself in the new wave of thrash metal
scene. They are currently working on new material for their 6th studio album,
as well as a live record, both due for release in 2025.
Throughout the years, Algebra shared stages and festival bills with bands such
as Slayer, Kreator, Destruction, Tryptikon, Bloodbath and Psycroptic. In 2022,
they toured Europe as support for Vektor and Cryptosis. In the fall of 2025,
they are coming back to storm Europe on their first headline tour. Get ready!
